There are over 2,000 Fijians serving in the British Army in Iraq, Afghanistan and all over the world. The Army holds regular recruitment drives on the islands and since 2000 around 10,000 people have applied. The influx of Fijians was welcomed, not just because of their military prowess, but also because of their reputation as excellent rugby players. The Army's rugby team has benefited greatly.
