Servicewomen cross-country skiing in Norway, in preparation for Exercise ICE MAIDEN, an all-female expedition to cross Antarctica in 2017.

Exercise ICE BAMBI was part of the selection process for the expedition. It was conducted with the help of Norwegian Army winter specialists at the Allied Training Centre in Porsangermoen. Two hundred servicewomen applied for the expedition. ICE BAMBI reduced the field from twenty-two to twelve women, six of whom would make the final selection.
