Studio portrait of Lieutenant Colonel (later Colonel) Frederick Thomas Arthur, 4th Earl of Hervey-Bathurst (1833-1900), Grenadier Guards, wearing cricket kit and leaning on a cricket bat.

Hervey-Bathurst served in the Crimean War (1854-1856) with the Grenadier Guards and was the subject of a portrait photograph by Roger Fenton. He played cricket for Hampshire and the Marylebone Cricket Club.
