Letter from Lieutenant William Hare, 51st (2nd Yorkshire, West Riding) Regiment of Foot to his wife Mary, 1 May 1814

Hare was then in France fighting in the Peninsular War (1808-1814). His letter, postmarked Langon, mentions unit movements, changes in the 7th Division at Bordeaux, and possible peace terms.
