An askari of the East African Reconnaissance Regiment sighting a carrier borne mortar in Burma, 24 August 1945

Universal Carriers were commonly used as platforms for infantry support weapons such as the Bren or Vickers machine gun, Boys anti-tank rifle or to carry weapons such as the 3-inch mortar.
