Captain Arthur Montague Rundall, 4th Gurkha Rifles, 1911

Arthur Rundall (1878-1914) was killed in action on the Western Front during World War One (1914-1918). The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records his death, aged 36, at Festubert in France on 20 December 1914. Arthur Rundall's younger brother, Lieutenant Lionel Bickersteth Rundall (1890-1914), was killed in action, aged 24 on the prevoius day, fighting with the 1st King George V's Own Gurkha Rifles (The Malaun Regiment) at Festubert.

The Coronation of King George V and his wife Queen Mary took place on 22 June 1911 at Westminster Abbey. This was followed by the Delhi Coronation Durbar on 12 December 1911, which was attended by around 100,000 people.
