54th Sikhs (Frontier Force), 1918

Photograph, World War One, Egypt and Palestine, 1918.

In 1903 the 4th Sikh Infantry was renumbered as the 54th Sikhs. The unit were stationed in India, on the North West Frontier, for much of the First World War. In 1918, the unit were deployed to Egypt and served in Palestine, fighting at the Battle of Megiddo, in September 1918.
