Grenade No 36M, 1944

A development of the No 5 Grenade or 'Mills Bomb' introduced in 1915, the No.36M was the most successful and the most used of all British Grenades in the Second World War. The designation 'M' originally indicated 'for Mesopotamia' and showed that the grenades had been specifically waterproofed for tropical use.
