A self-loading pistol is a type of handgun that can be fired in semi-automatic mode, firing one cartridge for each trigger pull until running out of stored ammunition. The Webley 6.35 mm was used by the Royal Navy as well as being fielded in small numbers by the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Artillery.
