The BE2c was built by the Royal Aircraft Factory as a two-seater reconnaissance aircraft. The example show was flown by a Captain Murray, Royal Flying Corps, on several observation and photographic missions during the Battles of Ctesiphon (November 1915) and Shaik Saad (January 1916).
