A tank destroyed in the German offensive in 1918

Photograph, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1918.

The Germans had far fewer tanks than the Allies, so they used captured British tanks like this one in their attacks. They did not commission their own model of tank, the A7V, until early in 1918, but only 20 of these were available for their Spring offensive.

From an album of 24 photographs.
