Piece of stained glass, St Martin's Church, Ypres, 1914

Stained glass in the form of a pointed trefoil of irregular shape and coloured green with black outlines.

A star shaped label on one side is inscribed, 'From the East Window in Ypres Cathedral', a similar label on the other side reads, 'Picked up at Ypres amongst the debris by Lt.Col. J.M. Rogers-Tillstone R.A.M.C. 1914.'

Rogers-Tillstone served with the Maidstone Companies, Royal Army Medical Corps.

St Martin's Church in Ypres lost its status as a cathedral in 1801. It was reduced to ruins during 1914 and was rebuilt to original plans after World War One (1914-1918).
