8th Cavalry at Marseille, November 1914

The British officer seated centre wears the kurta and pugri similar to those worn by the Indian officers and men. Originally raised in 1846, the 8th Cavalry were amalgamated with the 5th Cavalry in 1922 to form the 3rd Cavalry.
