Field service cap, 1st Duke of York's Own Lancers (Skinner's Horse), 1912 (c)

The Field Service Cap was authorised for wear 'in the field and when on peacetime manoeuvres'. A convenient feature of this cap is that it can be easily stored by folding it over the belt or tucking it into an epaulette.

Skinner's Horse were one of the most famous regiments of the Indian Army. Their dress uniform consisted of distinctive yellow kurtas (long coats) that prompted the nickname 'the yellow boys'.
