Letter concerning Mary Charteris's interview for the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, 7 May 1917 for clerical work in France
It reads: 'Dear Madam, I have to convey to you the thanks of the Director-General of National Service for your offer to place yourself at the disposal of the War Office as a National Service Volunteer for the Auxiliary Army Service in France. In order that fuller information may be available as to your qualifications for clerical work, I have to ask you to be so good as to attend for interview at the time and place given on the enclosed form of summons, which you should bring with you to the interview'.
