HMS Hyacinth (K84), 1943
Photograph compiled by Major Wilfred Herbert James Sale, MC, 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), World War Two (1939-1945), 1943.
HMS Hyacinth in the Mediterranean. Hyacinth (K84) was a Royal Navy Flower-class corvette launched in August 1940. She served in the Mediterranean as a convoy escort and was involved in several successful anti-submarine actions. Hyacinth was transferred to the Royal Hellenic Navy in 1943. The disruptive camouflage patterns painted on the vessel, designed to break up its outline, can clearly be seen.
From an album containing 241 photographs compiled by Major W H J Sale, MC, 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), 1943-1944.
