Mauser C96 9 mm self-loading pistol, Export model converted to 9 mm Parabellum
This weapon was obtained by Major C J P Ball, Royal Artillery, following a counter-attack on 30 November 1917 at the Battle of Cambrai. It had belonged to a German officer who had been killed, and was accompanied with a wooden shoulder stock holster.
