British artillery landing at Boulogne, 1914

Lantern slide, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1914.

Along with Le Havre and Rouen, Boulogne was one of the main ports used by the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) in 1914. General Sir John French and his Headquarters Staff arrived there with one of the first contingents on 12 August.
