The three sons of the late Admiral of the Fleet Sir George Rose Sartorius (1790-1885). On the left, Major-General Euston Henry Sartorius (1844-1925), who won the Victoria Cross in the 2nd Afghan War (1878-1880); in the centre, Major-General Reginald William Sartorius who won his VC in the 2nd Ashanti War (1873-1874); and on the right is Colonel George Conrad Sartorius (1840-1912).
