Military proclamation, 15 June 1900

This British poster from the Boer War (1899-1902) warns local Afrikaners that they will be held responsible for any damage to railway and telegraph lines in their area. It threatens reprisals including the burning of farms situated near any incident. The railway and telegraph systems were regularly sabotaged by Boer guerillas and their supporters.
