Prismatic compass, Mk III, 1939 used by Lieutenant-Colonel Fred Horace Peter, DSO, MC

This compass was manufactured by the T G Company Limited of London. After serving with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers during World War One (1914-1918), Peter was re-employed as a major in the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps in 1940, becoming an acting Lieutenant-Colonel later that year. He left the Army in 1944.
