Firing line of the 14th Regiment of Bengal Infantry (Ferozepore Sikhs) during the Delhi Camp of Exercise, 1885-1886 (c)

The 14th Regiment was raised at Ferozepore in 1846 as an irregular battalion, and recruited chiefly from personnel of the defeated Army of the Khalsa. In the years that followed it served during the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859) on the North West Frontier and the 2nd Afghan War (1878-1880).
