The seizure of Alipur canal bridge by the Guides Cavalry during the Delhi Camp of Exercise, 1885

Photograph, India, 1885.

The Queen's Own Corps of Guides, Punjab Frontier Force, was one of the most famous regiments of the Indian Army during the period of British rule. The North West Frontier where they usually operated was rarely quiet and although many other cavalry and infantry regiments served there, none was engaged more than the Guides.

From an album of 82 photographs.
