The welcome of Serracapriola, October 1943

Italian civilians greet men of the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) on their arrival at Serracapriola in Apulia. The regiment first entered the town on 1 October 1943 in tandem with the 5th Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment. That day its tanks knocked out an 88mm anti-tank gun and a half-track, as well as capturing several lorries and a field kitchen.
