The 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) was tasked to support the 10th Battalion Highland Light Infantry to take the village of Mouen, as part of the operations to outflank and seize the German occupied city of Caen. During the day the regiment lost a number of tanks but the village was subsequently taken.
