'The Lighthouse at Cape Chersonese, looking South.'

Coloured tinted lithograph by T G Dutton, 1855. One of 40 lithographs from 'The Seat of War in the East - First Series' after William Simpson, published by Paul and Dominic Colnaghi and Company, 15 June 1855.

The Cape Chersonese lighthouse was located close to the Russian naval base at Sevastopol. In this print, Simpson depicts a Turkish supply brig that has grounded being pulled off the beach by three boats manned by allied sailors.
