Messervy meets British and Indian soldiers of 17th Indian Infantry Division in Burma. The 17th Division served throughout the Burma campaign from 1942 to 1945, taking part in the initial retreat from the Japanese onslaught, the battles around Tiddim, the Battle of Imphal, the crossing of the Irrawaddy, Battle of Meiktila and the final advance on Rangoon.
