During Operation FUSTIAN Allied airborne troops attempted to capture the bridge over the Simeto River and 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) were involved in the supporting ground attack. The war diary of the Sharpshooters records heavy fighting around the bridge and the sustaining of a number of casualties.
