Gerbini aerodrome, near Catania, with the wreckage of German aircraft. The airfield was used by Italian Air Force and German Luftwaffe forces during World War Two (1939-1945). After Allied Forces captured the airfield it was used by the United States Army Air Force as a bomber and troop carrier base.
