Lieutenant Jimmy Sale, 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), 1943

Sale's unit landed near Syracuse in Sicily on 10 July 1943 as part of 4th Armoured Brigade. The previous April Sale had been appointed unit photographer and it is thanks to his efforts that we have such a fine record of the campaign in Sicily and Italy.
