This photograph was taken in England prior to Operation OVERLORD, the invasion of mainland Europe in June 1944. Henry Charles (Peter) Henningham, nicknamed 'Furry Man', fought in Italy with the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), as a troop commander, and was awarded the Military Cross.
