The Sharpshooter's war diary entry for for 28 June 1944 lists Trooper Davies of 'C' Squadron as among nine men confirmed killed. During the day the Regiment fought with German armour south east of the town of Cheux. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records the grave of Trooper Lewis Davies at St Manvieu War Cemetery, Cheux.
