Taken in the winter of 1944/1945, the photograph shows the tower and spire of the nineteenth century Church of the Presentation of Mary, with snow covered trees in the foreground. The 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry arrived in the Dutch town of Asten on 19 December 1944 for rest and refitting and remained there until late January 1945.
