Tanks of 'B' Squadron 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) stop at Bergendorf, which was approximately eight miles South East of Hamburg, where they spent the day when negotiations were going on for the surrender of the city. German municipal police can also been seen in the picture.
The regiment entered Hamburg on the 4th May 1945, after advancing across northern Germany with the British 2nd Army, where they spent Victory in Europe (VE) day.
