A scene from the Crimean War (1854-1856) showing Foot Guards on the advance to the River Alma in 1854. The officer in the foreground is Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach who served with the Grenadier Guards and saw action at the Battles of the Alma, Balaklava and Inkerman.
