6th Battalion, The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, moving up to the front line during the advance of the 78th Division on the town of Centuripe, 1943

The 6th Inniskillings were among the first troops to enter the Sicilian town, which was occupied on 2 August 1943. During the capture of Centuripe the battalion lost one officer and eight other ranks killed and four officers and 36 other ranks wounded.
