Digital photograph by WO2 Giles Penfound, Army Media Operations, Operation TELIC, 4.
The work of the Civil and Military liaison Team aided the renovation of the Souk in Al Amarah. Money for small projects was loaned to individuals who were able to put together a simple business plan and show that the investment would help the community. Many of the projects supported came from the Souk. A 'Soft Patrol' was an operation in which helmets were not worn and the soldiers went in on foot rather than in armoured vehicles.
