'Talk Kills', 1943
Chromolithograph poster designed by Abram Games (1914-1996), printed by Henry Hildesley Limited 1943.
Games designed many British wartime propaganda and information posters over the course of his military service with the Royal Engineers. In 1942 he was appointed Official War Poster Artist.
Games produced two versions of this poster showing the possible consequences of disclosing sensitive information about the war - one coloured green that suggested a death at sea, and another coloured red which suggested a death on land. The Army's campaign for information security was incredibly effective.
From a collection of 45 posters from World War Two (1939-1945).
