German POWs are marched back to internment camps under the armed guard of members of the FFI (French Forces of the Interior ). After the D-Day landings the Allies placed about 200,000 resistance fighters under the command of General Marie Pierre Koenig, who attempted to unify resistance efforts against the Germans. Most FFI members wore civilian clothing and wore an armband with the letters 'FFI'.
