British prisoners of war at Stalag VIIIB, 1940 (c)

Spikings can be seen on the far left of the second row. Stalag VIIIB was located in Lamsdorf, Silesia. Originally established in 1939 to house Polish prisoners from the initial September offensive, the camp later housed approximately 100,000 prisoners from Australia, Belgium, Britain, Canada, France, Greece, New Zealand, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and the United States.
