Part of a horse's bridle, 1856 (c)

Presented to General George William Frederick Charles, 2nd Duke of Cambridge by Abdul Mejid, Sultan of Turkey following the Crimean War (1854-1856) to express his appreciation of the Duke's services.

Red leather strap embroidered on the front with gold wire and central orange strip; secured with a brass gilt buckle with two gilt brass rings, one of which is attached to a strap and buckle.
