Regimental medal presented by the Inner Temple to its members who fought in World War One, 1918

This medal was presented to Captain A Mains of the Royal Field Artillery (Territorial Force). The enormous casualties of the War meant that many institutions lost a large proportion of their members. This resulted in the widespread production of regional and institutional commemorative medals. The winged horse on the reverse side represents Pegasus, as seen on the Arms of the Inner Temple.
