Warrant officer's or senior Non-Commissioned Officer's peaked pillbox forage cap, West India Regiment, 1895 (c)

The West India Regiment was unique amongst colonial units in that it was an integral part of the British regular army. The edge of this blue cloth cap is trimmed with gold coloured twisted round cord. On the front there is an embroidered badge bearing the gold wire entwined letters 'W I R'. The lining is made of padded scarlet silk and the peak is lined with green leather.
