Clay pipe, 1854 (c)

This pipe with a blackened bowl was used by Captain George Herman Norman of the 57th (West Middlesex) Regiment during the Crimean War (1854-1856). Norman died of wounds received in the assault on the Redan at Sebastopol on 18 June 1855.
