Slide rule owned by Lieutenant General Gerald Templer, 1945 (c)

This was used for calculating marching and assembling times for different numbers of troops and vehicles. Templer commanded several divisions of the British Army during the Second World War (1939-1945) including the 56th (London) Infantry Division in Italy in 1943. In 1952 he was appointed commander of the British forces during the Malayan Emergency (1950-1957).
