King George V Silver Jubilee Medal 1935, awarded to Major (later Lieutenant-Colonel) Eric Hudson Allen, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment)
Circular, silver medal designed by Sir William Goscombe John ( ) with, on the obverse, the heads of King George V and Queen Mary, with the inscription, 'George. V. and. Queen. Mary. May. VI. MCMXXXV'. On the reverse, the royal cypher, 'GRI', surmounted by an Imperial Crown, with the date 'May 6 1910' on the left, and 'May 6 1935' on the right. The medal is suspended from a purple ribbon edged with blue and white stripes.
This medal was awarded to British and Commonwealth dignitaries, officials and service personnel to commemorate King George V's Silver Jubilee in 1935.
