Mess jacket, Major (later Colonel) J A G Lynn, 13th Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers, 1931 (c)

Born in Chester on 29 October 1894, John Arthur Goodenough Lynn was educated at Monkton Combe School in Bath. He served in the Army Service Corps during World War One (1914-1918) and joined the Indian Army in May 1919, serving with the 13th Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers. Lynn retired from the Army as a full colonel.
