Tunic, service dress, pattern 1941, Lance Corporal Marjorie Buy, Auxiliary Territorial Service, 1943
Insignia on the tunic includes Auxiliary Territorial Service shoulder titles, a good conduct chevron on the left sleeve, formation badges of VIII Corps, and three years' overseas service stripes on the right sleeve. The cap badge on the left breast denotes that Marjorie was attached to the Royal Artillery during her service.
Buy served in a mixed Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery during World War Two (1939-1945). Victory in the war made Buy's role redundant, but she continued to serve in Germany in the Military Government.
From the collection of Lance Corporal Marjorie Buy, Auxiliary Territorial Service, World War Two (1939-1945).
