Jacobite drinking glass, 1760 (c)

Bell bowl on a double-knopped, multi-spiral air twist stem and conical foot.

The glass is engraved with an open thistle, two buds and a single moth. The thistle is the national emblem of Scotland while the moth, along with bees and butterflies, is believed to be a more cryptic reference to Scotsmen returning to their native land.
