Ebola Medal, specimen, 2015

Instituted in 2015 the Ebola Medal was issued to Armed Forces personnel and civilians working in support of the British Government's reponse to the West Africa Ebola Crisis. Codenamed Operation Gritrock, the deployment began in 2014, and ended with Sierra Leone declared Ebola free in November 2015.
